It's Mother's Day today, a day to honor and celebrate mothers, aunts, or anyone who has been a mother to you. Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful and hardworking mother's around the world! Of course, I must also share a beautiful picture of my own mother and wish her a Happy Mother's Day from Seattle! To the most beautiful woman in the world!

As many of you know already, I have a Shih-Tzu dog called Maggie. Even though she's turning 11 years old this year, many people think she's still a puppy, probably because she is very small in size. People are always surprised to find out that she's actually a senior dog and not a puppy. In English there are different names given to baby animals. For example, a baby dog is called a puppy. Below are some other examples of animals and their youngs. It's always easy to think about things you admire about other people but what about sharing some things that you like about yourself? I like that I am hardworking, caring, and loyal. What about you? Can you share three things you like about yourself?
Have you ever heard the saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? I USUALLY eat a boiled egg and SOMETIMES I'll toast a piece of bread too. What do you USUALLY eat in the morning? Do you remember what the adverb USUALLY means? A couple of months ago, I posted a chart on adverbs of frequency to show the difference in meaning between different adverbs (always, sometimes, usually, never). If you missed it, please click this link here. It's very helpful to see.
When we use adverbs of frequency, it's to show how often something happens. The adverb ALWAYS means 100% of the time and the adverb USUALLY is a bit less than ALWAYS. So in 100 days of breakfasts, I eat eggs 90 of those days. But if I ALWAYS eat eggs for breakfast then in 100 days of breakfast, I eat eggs 100 of those days. Take a look here at some breakfast dishes from around the world. It's so interesting to see what people eat in different cultures! |
